Damon Stoudamire was the Toronto Raptors first-ever draft pick in 1995, the franchise’s first draft as an expansion team. The NBA Draft that year took place in Toronto’s Rogers Centre, then called the SkyDome. The undersized guard became associated with another icon of short stature, the legendary Mighty Mouse. He embraced the reference as his nickname and even played with a visible tattoo of the character. In 1996 Stoudamire won the NBA Rookie of the Year award.
